Hi,

i too got to know about people getting BBMP khatha for DC converted sites ans also they will get Bank loans,

but not sure whether house can be constructed,

if anyone knows please lwt us know

Hi Amit Pearl and JagSid,

I would like to know the same information. If you all find out , please post it on the forum or pm me.

Basically, what I would like to find out is
is bbmp issuing khata (as per this and other forums - they are, but only specific kinds). (what are these kinds of khata that are being issued.

I hear that they are issuing khata for CMC / TMC / dc converted - only if betterment charges are paid. What does this imply - are they collecting betterment charges now - when would they start.

when is the expected time for issue of khata.

I am really looking forward to building my house soon and this is hindering the process.

BBMP is issuing khata... thats sure. Now if i was in your place, i would have approached the BBMP office in your area
and check with Revenue officer if they can provide khata. They would staright away tell you the Price.... may be 12k etc etc.

This means you can get it, after this you can check out with some other guy who can get you this at lesser price.

One thing i am not sure is will the house plan get approved with this new khata.

Hi Amit,

Khatha will be issued only if u have paid betterment charges.once you have khatha, u can get plan sanctioned.

as of now, bbmp is not collecting betterment charges. when they will start collecting, only bbmp knows and till then we have to wait.

as far as B-khatha , it is temporary one and you should check with ur bank whether they will issue loan on this as this is relatively new and most banks are not familiar with this. before you getting b-khatha, you should have an endorsement from bbmp.

what endorsement should one get from bbmp? Is it on some stamp paper?

B-khata itsself stands and a note From BBMP. Again i hope we there might be bribe involved to get the
endorsement.

Hi amit,


To get bbmp B-khatha, you have to give your application and bbmp should ascertain and do their own paper work and give an endorsement. this endorsement is needed to issue a b-khatha or any temporary katha. very few have been issued this B-khatha as far as i know. thats the info i had from my sources. To get authenticated info , Check with BBMP.

bribe is involved and i don't know the rates. i don't know whether endorsement should be on stamp paper, check with good lawyers, they will be knowing this. meanwhile i will check with my sources.

i really don't know how much time it will take to issue bbmp B-khatha, once you get, then banks might be willing to fund. many bank lawyers or legal people don't have too much info on this and are very hesitant. check..

I am a little confused on the postings above.

1. the B- Khata is a temporary khata (which does not entitle you to to apply for plan sanction).
2. then you say that with a B-Khata you can get a loan (loan for what - not construction definitely, as plan itself will not be approved with this) and if not that then for purchasing? but before purchasing how can you get the khata in your name.

please clarify?

Yes... this is the info i have.

B-khata is temporory khata, using which i dont think you can apply for getting house plan approval.

The site owner will first apply for B-khata, with this document very few banks are ready to give loan
to buy the site.Till date only LIC has agreed to fund for such khata's.

If anybody is aware of other than LIC would be really helpful.


One more question that is unknown to me is. Layouts approved by Panchayat, dont they collect betterment?
Once betterment is paid why again BBMP insistst to pay Betterment Charges.
