Re: Kota stone for flooring anybody?
Can any one share polishing charges for Kota stones? One guy is quoting 18rs. But I remember this used to be 5rs in 2002; of course it is long ago in the past. I'm not sure if 18rs is reasonable in 2014!

Re: Labour contract charges per chadara
Labor charges - upto 5% variation is nothing compared to quality and hassle-free delivery. +5% doesn't guarantee that either. But u should check the quality if his earlier works.

We purchased PVC cover blocks from chikpet. We also got ready to use ones from Ultratech/birla cement dealers.

Re: Suggestions for Blocks
If u r in South Bangalore, I strongly recommend Dicon blocks. Price is in between local blocks and Apco blocks and quality is almost same as that of apco. Google it and u can find their website and contacts.

Can any one share fair price for polishing Tandur stones? The stones are already laid, but they are uneven and not very nice.

Re: Solar powered homes from BORG
In bangalore, as per the vendor, power generated by solar is 0.5 unit per 100Wp per day. For 300Wp I had to spend <20000. I expect about rs 200 saving per month in electricity bill. If we treat solar as incremental cost over inverter then the return on investment is not bad.

Re: Solar powered homes from BORG
Is Tata Solar Dynamo is similar to Borg and Emerson? Looks like WRT cost.
I finally went for a local solution costing about Rs. 58k which includes:
2kVA hybrid (solar + mains) inverter
300Ah solar tubular batteries (150*2)
300Wp solar panels (150*2)
frame, wiring and installation
