Asking 2% for giving us the contact details of the owner is extraordinarily greedy. We need to shun these kind of brokers. The brokers are doing a dis-service to the owners by not taking up all the offers to the owners. Of course, I am just telling you how my mind works.

Brokers perform a service to potential buyers, namely disclosing the name of the owners. He thinks it deserves 2% of the property price and anything less means "grow up guys...

For the buyer, the rate should be 1% regardless of the price. It is greedy to ask 2% for just disclosing the name of the owner. Hopefully the owners will use forums like these to get more savvy and get rid of the middlemen.
