Roof concrete screed with waterproofing
Hi, I have an independent building with 1300 sqft of roof area constructed in 2016. The roof muddy (screed) was not done properly at that time which led to multiple cracks, patches and wall dampness. There is no leakage through the mother slab. Now I want to remove the screed and redo the terrace. T...

Windows - Wooden Vs UPVC
Which is good in terms of quality - Wooden windows or UPVC windows? My observation is that In terms of quality wood will be best compared to UPVC, provided you use good wood like honne, acasia, or second grade teak. I'm not sure about red sal though. Cost? I think if you use UPVC (good quality) it w...

Re: Please review - Quotation for wood work
Thanks girish for the detailed post. Is it the same way we calculate for the door shutters also? I guess window shutters can be calculated the same way and add the glass cost, but what about doors? Below is the quotation I received for teak wood: 1. Main door (7 X 3.5) section 6X3 2. Dining door to ...

Re: What will be cost for sump?
I am paying Rs.3/liter for red brick sump (only labour). RCC sump will be Rs.6/liter. I'm not sure if this is reasonable. You may require around 2500-2800 red bricks to make 8'.5" * 7'.5" * 5'.5" sump which can hold about 9500-10,000 liters of water. I bought 3000 red bricks at Rs.5.25 (Rs.16600), c...

Re: Our House construction experience
Hi Ravi,
Good going and keep it up!
Can you let me know how much was the total cost for your sump (labour + materials)
I'm also planning to make it with red bricks walls, concrete on bottom and top. My mastri is asking Rs.3/ liter (only labour). Is this reasonable?
Thanks,
Sano
